Poets on the Beach

Poets on beaches
searching for diamonds in the sand
finding shards of glass.

Morose architects
of words written in the sand
erased by ocean’s hands.

The artist’s heart sees
the beauty of ocean glass
and fragments of shells
washed unto the shore.
Writing when no one’s reading.
Just for the hell of it.

If Poets on the Beach was a cocktail, what would it taste like?
